Thailand Launches Second Round of Anti-Dumping Sunset Review on Motorcycle Rubber Inner Tubes from China
According to news on November 24, the Thailand Dumping and Subsidy Review Committee announced that they will launch the second round of anti-dumping sunset review investigation, targeting motorcycle rubber inner tubes originating in China. The Thai customs code of the product involved is 4013.90. 20. This decision takes effect the day after the announcement is made.
The first anti-dumping investigation can be traced back to July 4, 2011, when Thailand launched an investigation into motorcycle rubber inner tubes imported from China. Subsequently, on November 28, 2012, Thailand made a positive final anti-dumping ruling and decided to impose anti-dumping duties of 30.34% to 112.51% on these products, which will be valid for 5 years.
On November 29, 2017, the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand launched the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation into motorcycle rubber inner tubes imported from China.
Thailand's "World Daily" reported on July 11 that Thailand's anti-dumping working meeting decided today to impose anti-dumping duties on motorcycle inner tube products originating in China for a period of four months. Among them, the anti-dumping tax rate levied on motorcycle inner tube products produced by a company in Qingdao, China is 30.34% because the company cooperated well in the anti-dumping investigation; while the anti-dumping tax rate levied on products of other Chinese companies is 112.1%, in addition to 10% ordinary customs duty.
The case was investigated and the final ruling was made at the request of the Thai Motorcycle Inner Tube Manufacturers Federation. In addition, due to the withdrawal of the request by the three Thai paper products companies that initiated the complaint and the shortage of paper after the floods in Thailand, the Thai Ministry of Commerce announced the cancellation of the anti-dumping investigation into paper products produced in China, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan.
